Where can I buy high power contact lenses online?

I need a year's supply , or so of power -14.00 contact lenses. I read something about gas permeable lenses during my search, but don't know what they are really, or whether they are safer than regular contact lenses.Thanks.

To order contacts, you must have a valid contact prescription from your Doctor. A contact Rx is different from the glasses Rx because it includes the strength (often a little different from the glasses, because contacts sit directly on your eye), base curve and diameter of the contact, and brand name. This means that you cannot choose any kind of contact, the prescription is only valid for the brand(s) the doctor lists.

RGPs (Rigid Gas Permeable) or "hard" contacts are no more or less safe than soft lenses, but have some different care requirements that your doctor can explain to you. RGPs are not disposable lenses, so one pair would be all you would need for a year. However, your doctor must fit you for these VERY specifically, and then they are custom manufactured (unlike soft contacts which come in set base curve/diameters sizes with maybe a couple of variations per brand).
