Is there an effective way to remove spray foam off a cat?

After laying some insulating foam on the roof, my cat stepped in it. Unfortunately by the time i found it, its entire leg and a large region on her side was covered in foam. For the last 3 hours i've been removing the damn thing with a scalpel cutting the hair close to the skin and removing the foam and even though i've made a lot of progress(i'm down to the paw right now) i'm wondering if there is an easier way to do this.
Acetone only works when the foam is in a "liquid" state after it's cured polyurethane foam is insoluble in any substance

I wouldn't use a scalpel on her paw. If she squirmed it would be too easy to hurt her. I would use some small but sharp scissors to slowly trim back the layers of foam, and get it off around her toes. Good Luck!
